DIRECTIONS TO US

August is "National Brake Awareness Month" and understanding how your vehicle stops is important.  Brakes don't stop your car, they stop the tires from rotating.  It's GOOD tires that stop your car.  Once the tire tread gets worn down enough that it no longer covers Lincoln's head on a penny, than the tire is no longer safe to drive on in any condition.  We have all seen this demonstration before.  But, did you know that once the tread wears down enough to barely cover Washington's head on a quarter, than the tire is unsafe in wet weather driving?  The shallow tread depth of 4/32" is not enough to let water pass through easily.  Therefore making the tire susceptible to aquaplaning and nearly doubling the stopping distance..
