"Gold STARS for Paul and Stocks Underhood Specialist. While visiting my daughter in Florida, I took her CR-V to the local Honda dealership for a review. The cost of repairs was over $1000. I called Paul to discuss the issues. He advised calling a AAA car care center before proceeding. Results: Honda Dealer wanted $270 to repair a boot/axle. AAA stated that there was nothing wrong with the boot except that oil had built up from sloppy oil changes AAA's cost $0. Honda dealer wanted to charge $650 to investigate the check engine light and found the need to replace a module and shut off valve. AAA's cost $98 for their computer check time with the result that a electric wire was found to be unplugged. Several other issues that the dealer wanted to repair were questioned.
